The three cities I’ve lived in Florida (Valrico, Gainesville, Titusville) and the city in New Hampshire I’m moving to (Nashua). That’s Nashua way up in the top right and Titusville way down in the bottom left. Ouch.

So the job. Well if you wanted to know what exactly it is I do, you’re out of luck because I don’t even know yet. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and it is pretty awesome to be shown around where they are assembling pieces of the shuttle.
As it turns out I don’t need to wear a suit or even a tie. Some people wear jeans. Tomorrow I should be able to get a lot more done now that I have the ability to actually use a computer.
I am shipping off to Carson, CA after 2 weeks here for 4 weeks of training. From what I understand they pay for me to have a rental car, hotel room, and all the food I eat. That’s from somewhere around March 15th to April 10th or 11th.
My official title is Keystone Engineer by the by, which essentially means I’m an Intern.
Here is the promised slideshow of pictures of my condo. If you go to my flickr you’ll see the many silly notes I put on the pictures.

Previously on Tumblr: Back on Janurary 21st our hero (read: me) believed he had finally struck that most lauded and sought after gull-murderin’ black gold: a job!
The Not So Distant Past: On Thursday February 19th, I accepted the final job offer and was accepted. My starting date was then set as Monday March 2nd. At this point I don’t know where it is I’ll be going or what sort of environment it will be (read: what do I wear?). I know I’m working at Kennedy Space Center and that I’m supposed ship off to either Boston, MA or Carson, CA for 4 weeks of training, but how long until this happens? It would be some time before I would find out the answers to these questions…
The Not Distant Past: On Wednesday February 25th I drove over to Cape Canaveral to look at some apartments I’d found after some searching around on the internets. These places ranged from dump to decent, although one had the advantage of being a mere block from the beach. This same day I finally received a response asking where and when I’ll be reporting and all that. The delay in response all had to do with me receiving the wrong point of contact and then my point of contact referring me someone who was out sick.
The map that I received showed me that where I’d be working really wasn’t all that close to Cape Canaveral (~40 min drive), and the places and atmosphere there weren’t really that appealing anyway. After some more craigslisting and the like I decided to check out a condo for rent in Titusville.
The Past: I came, I saw, I liked, I applied, and a mere 40 minutes later I was all set with the keys in my hand. For my purposes this condo seems a good fit: Publix right down the street and about as close to work as possible (still ~20 minutes). Tomorrow I will whip up one of those nifty little slideshows for all to see.
The Not Past: As I grow weary lying on my airbed, I can’t help but realize I haven’t really said a thing about the job itself. Since I’m tired I’ll type that up tomorrow.
